CVE-2021-4438

Local intent redirection via unpermissioned broadcast receiver

Published Apr 7, 2024 · Updated Aug 3, 2024

Improper component export in Kyivstar React Native SMS User Consent 1.1.0 through 1.1.4 allows local users to redirect SMS intents. The SmsUserConsentModule registerReceiver call omits SmsRetriever.SEND_PERMISSION, allowing a local app to deliver a crafted broadcast. Exploitation requires the host app to start the listener; a forged broadcast can redirect or disrupt the SMS consent flow handled by that app.
