Camera reboot via non-object SetMask parameter
Published Jan 28, 2022 · Updated Apr 15, 2025
Improper input validation in Reolink RLC-410W 3.0.0.136_20121102 allows remote attackers to reboot the camera through a crafted HTTP request. The SetMask parser treats the JSON param value as an object without validating its type, so a non-object value triggers a Json::Value assertion that kills cgiserver.cgi. Loss of the CGI heartbeat reboots the device; most affected API calls require a session, but a separately documented login flaw removes that gate.
