Camera reboot via non-object SetDevName parameter
Published Jan 28, 2022 · Updated Apr 15, 2025
Improper input validation in Reolink RLC-410W 3.0.0.136_20121102 allows remote authenticated users to reboot the camera via HTTP. The cgiserver.cgi SetDevName parser treats the JSON param value as an object without checking its type, so a string value reaches an assertion and causes the device to reboot. SetDevName normally requires a logged-in session, but Talos documents unauthenticated reachability when a separate authentication bypass is chained; the bounded result is a service interruption and camera reboot.
