Enclave memory disclosure via untrusted buffer length
Published May 9, 2023 · Updated Jul 9, 2026
Buffer overflow in ShieldStore commit 58d455617f99705f0ffd8a27616abdf77bdc1bdc allows attackers on the untrusted OS to read enclave memory. enclave_init_values copies an untrusted Arg into the global arg_enclave without validating max_buf_size, which enclave_get then passes to memset for a fixed 4,125-byte buffer. Control of the untrusted operating system permits an oversized clear and attacker-chosen message_return parameters, exposing enclave data without a reported integrity or availability impact.
