Memory disclosure via unchecked JPEG buffer read
Published Sep 7, 2023 · Updated Feb 27, 2025
Out-of-bounds read in Adobe After Effects 22.0 and earlier and 18.4.2 and earlier allows attackers to disclose memory via a crafted JPEG. The JPEG parser insufficiently validates user-supplied image data before reading past the end of an allocated buffer. Exploitation requires a victim to open the file, and the disclosed memory can reveal address-layout data that supports a separate exploit chain.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
