Memory disclosure via out-of-bounds MOV parsing
Published Sep 7, 2023 · Updated Feb 27, 2025
Out-of-bounds read in Adobe After Effects 22.0 and earlier and 18.4.2 and earlier allows attackers to disclose memory via a MOV file. The MOV parser reads beyond an input buffer while processing malformed file data, exposing process memory that can reveal layout information. A victim must open the malicious file; disclosed addresses can weaken ASLR, with no reported memory-write or code-execution effect.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
