Unauthorized metadata changes via missing nonce validation
Published Jul 12, 2023 · Updated Apr 8, 2026
Cross-site request forgery in InoPlugs WP-Backgrounds Lite 2.3 and earlier allows remote attackers to save metadata via a forged request. The ino_save_data() function accepts the state-changing request without valid nonce verification and writes the submitted metadata. A site administrator must be induced to submit the request, such as by following a malicious link, and the demonstrated consequence is unauthorized metadata modification.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
