Unauthenticated filesystem disclosure via path parameter traversal
Published Mar 28, 2022 · Updated Aug 4, 2024
Path traversal in HiBy OS R3 Pro 1.5 and 1.6 allows remote attackers to list the device filesystem through its HTTP server. The list.cgi endpoint accepts a path parameter whose contain_root check compares it with /mnt but does not canonicalize ../ segments before listing the directory. The server is reachable on port 4399 only after Import Music via Wi-Fi is enabled, and crafted traversal values expose root-directory contents without authentication.
