Remote command execution via traversable avatar upload
Published Nov 28, 2021 · Updated Aug 4, 2024
Unrestricted file upload in ZrLog 2.2.2 allows remote attackers to execute commands by uploading a JSP web shell through avatar upload. The UploadController.generatorUri method derives a JSP extension from the supplied filename and concatenates the unchecked dir parameter into the storage path. No authentication or user interaction is required; path traversal places the JSP in an executable directory, and requesting it runs commands under the service account.
