Code execution via TIF parser buffer overwrite
Published Dec 5, 2021 · Updated Aug 4, 2024
Out-of-bounds write in Open Design Alliance Drawings Explorer before 2022.11 allows attackers to execute code through a crafted TIF file. The TIF parser writes crafted file data beyond the end of an allocated buffer after the file is loaded. Execution requires a user to open the malicious file, and resulting code runs with the privileges of the current process.
