Code execution via unvalidated XFAT sector count
Published Dec 5, 2021 · Updated Aug 4, 2024
Out-of-bounds write in Open Design Alliance Drawings SDK before 2022.11 allows attackers to execute code via a crafted DGN file. The DGN parser fails to validate the XFAT sector count before using crafted data to write past the end of an allocated buffer. Exploitation requires the malicious file to be read by an application using the SDK, and resulting code runs in that application's process.
