Code execution via malformed PAR file parsing
Published Feb 9, 2022 · Updated Aug 4, 2024
Memory corruption in affected Siemens JT2Go, Solid Edge, and Teamcenter Visualization releases allows remote attackers to execute code via PAR files. Affected versions are JT2Go before 13.2.0.7, Solid Edge SE2021 before SE2021MP9 and SE2022 before SE2022MP1, and Teamcenter Visualization 13.1 before 13.1.0.9, 13.2 before 13.2.0.7, and 13.3 before 13.3.0.1; plmxmlAdapterSE70.dll fails to validate user-supplied PAR data while parsing, causing memory corruption. Exploitation requires a user to open a malicious file or visit a malicious page, and resulting code runs in the current process context.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
