CVE-2021-44014

Code execution via use-after-free in JT parsing

Published Dec 14, 2021 · Updated Aug 4, 2024

Use-after-free in Jt1001.dll in Siemens JT Open, JT Utilities, and Solid Edge allows attackers to execute code via crafted JT files. The JT parser performs operations on an object without first validating that the object still exists, allowing freed memory to be reused. Exploitation requires a user to open an attacker-controlled JT file, and resulting code runs in the current process.
