Unauthenticated account creation via unguarded registration endpoint
Published Jan 11, 2022 · Updated Aug 4, 2024
Missing authentication in SysAid ITIL 20.4.74 b10 allows remote attackers to create end-user accounts through /enduserreg. The endpoint accepts registration POST data even when the server-side anonymous-registration setting is disabled, because that setting only hides the client form. The instance must have outgoing email configured so the new account receives a password; the flaw grants ordinary account access, while later privilege escalation requires separate vulnerabilities.
