Unauthenticated code execution via project name injection
Published Dec 27, 2021 · Updated Aug 4, 2024
OS command injection in Gerapy before 0.9.8 allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary commands through a crafted project name. The project_configure view interpolates the request-derived project name into a command string and passes it to Popen with shell execution enabled. Network access to an exposed Gerapy web server is sufficient, and successful exploitation runs commands with the server process privileges.
