Private-code disclosure via search-result existence oracle
Published Dec 13, 2021 · Updated Aug 4, 2024
Observable discrepancy in Sourcegraph before 3.33.2 allows remote authenticated users to infer strings in private source through search results. Saved Searches and Code Monitoring reveal whether each attacker-chosen string exists, creating an existence oracle over otherwise inaccessible code. Exploitation requires an account and many crafted searches or monitors; disclosed strings can include formatted secrets such as API keys.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
