Unrestricted file upload in Recently 3.0.4 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to place arbitrary files on a WordPress server. The fetch_external_image() function writes a fetched image candidate without validating its file type, allowing executable content to pass as an image. An authenticated account is required; code execution follows only when the uploaded file reaches a web-accessible location where the server executes it.
