CVE-2021-43815Network attack vector

Authenticated CSV disclosure via unanchored filename regex

Published Dec 10, 2021 · Updated Aug 4, 2024

Path traversal in Grafana 5.0.0 through 7.5.11 and 8.0.0-beta3 through 8.3.1 allows remote authenticated users to read CSV files. The TestData DB loadCsvFile check accepts a matching filename substring because its regular expression lacks start and end anchors, then joins the entire supplied name into a filesystem path. Exploitation requires an authenticated account and an enabled, configured TestData DB data source; disclosure is limited to local files ending in .csv.
