Unauthenticated option changes via unchecked layout import
Published Jun 7, 2023 · Updated Apr 8, 2026
Authorization bypass in StylemixThemes uListing 1.6.6 and earlier allows remote attackers to change WordPress options without authentication. StmListingSingleLayout::import_new_layout accepts a WP_Route file upload and uses attacker-controlled id and type values to call update_option without a capability check or security nonce. The public route requires no account, and arbitrary option changes can enable registration with an Administrator default role or redirect the site.
