Arbitrary file read via unsanitized asset path
Published Dec 6, 2021 · Updated Aug 4, 2024
Path traversal in Requarks Wiki.js before 2.5.254 allows remote attackers to read arbitrary files through crafted asset URLs. The server/helpers/page.js path parser passed raw asset paths toward storage-module handling without removing Windows backslashes, doubled slashes, or repeated dot sequences. Exploitation requires a Windows host, an enabled local asset-cache module such as Local File System or Git, and no intermediary that strips the crafted URL.
