Subscriber-level stored XSS via unsanitized option values
Published Jun 7, 2023 · Updated Apr 8, 2026
Stored XSS in WP Quick FrontEnd Editor 5.5 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to inject scripts into dashboard toolbar labels. The save_admin_options function passes the la_save_front_editor request directly to update_option, leaving btnText and disBtntext unsanitized. Subscriber-level access is sufficient, and the stored code executes in the browser of any logged-in user who loads the affected toolbar.
