Authenticated code execution via executable log rule
Published Mar 23, 2022 · Updated Aug 4, 2024
Remote code execution in CmsWing CMS 1.3.7 allows remote authenticated users to execute server-side commands via a crafted log rule. The published exploit places a Node.js child_process.execSync expression in the update_channel log rule, which executes after a navigation setting is changed and saved. Administrative access to the background interface is required, after which the injected expression runs commands with the CMS process's privileges.
