Stored script execution via unfiltered SSID log
Published Jul 5, 2022 · Updated Aug 4, 2024
Stored XSS in the ASUS RT-A88U 3.0.0.4.386_45898 admin panel allows remote authenticated users to execute script via a crafted SSID. Main_WStatus_Content.asp inserts decoded output from wl_log.asp into a textarea without filtering malicious HTML tags. An attacker needs access to change an SSID, and an administrator must open Wireless logs; the script then runs in the administrator's browser session and can alter router settings.
