CVE-2021-43609Public exploitNetwork attack vector

Authenticated code execution via unsanitized sort parameter

Published Nov 8, 2023 · Updated Sep 17, 2024

Blind Boolean SQL injection in Spiceworks Help Desk Server before 1.3.3 allows remote authenticated users to execute arbitrary SQL. The order_by_for_ticket function in app/models/reporting/database_query.rb incorporates the sort parameter into a database query without safely neutralizing SQL syntax. A valid account is required; crafted Boolean expressions can disclose local files, recover the signing secret, and enable code execution through malicious deserialization.
