Code execution via unchecked freed DWG object
Published Nov 22, 2021 · Updated Aug 4, 2024
Use-after-free in Open Design Alliance Drawings SDK before 2022.11 allows attackers to execute code by supplying a malicious DWG file. The DWG parser performs operations on an object without first confirming that the object still exists, allowing reuse after free. A target application must read the crafted file; successful exploitation runs code with the privileges of the current process.
