Code execution via project archive path traversal
Published Nov 19, 2021 · Updated Sep 17, 2024
Path traversal in mySCADA Technologies myDESIGNER 8.20.0 and earlier allows attackers to execute code via an imported project file. The import handler does not reject relative traversal entries before extracting project contents, so files are written outside the intended directory. A local user must import the crafted project; traversal entries can plant or overwrite arbitrary files and cause code execution.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
