Authenticated information disclosure via unchecked Limits properties
Published Nov 17, 2021 · Updated Sep 16, 2024
Incorrect authorization in AVEVA PI Vision 2021 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to read restricted AF attribute data. When a child AF attribute is configured as a Limits property, PI Vision returns its value without enforcing the permissions that restrict it. The user must already be authenticated, and exposure is limited to information accessible to the PI Vision application pool identity.
