Click misdirection via unscaled custom-cursor boundary
Published Dec 8, 2021 · Updated Aug 4, 2024
Cursor spoofing in Mozilla Firefox before 95, Firefox ESR before 91.4.0, and Thunderbird before 91.4.0 allows remote attackers to misdirect clicks. The layout defense against oversized custom cursors uses an unscaled boundary and ignores native cursor magnification. A user must enable a zoomed native cursor and interact with attacker-controlled content, allowing page content to appear under browser chrome while receiving the click.
