Authenticated code execution via unchecked ZIP extraction
Published Jun 7, 2023 · Updated Apr 8, 2026
Arbitrary file upload in Magazine3 Technologies PWA for WP 1.7.32 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to execute PHP code. The pwaforwp_splashscreen_uploader AJAX handler copies the request body into a ZIP file and extracts its entries into a web-accessible upload directory without restricting dangerous file types. Subscriber-level access supplies the required nonce, and execution occurs when the server processes an uploaded PHP script.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
