Unauthenticated settings modification via unrestricted init hook
Published Jun 7, 2023 · Updated Apr 8, 2026
Authorization bypass in Eyecix Technologies JobSearch WP Job Board 1.8.1 and earlier allows remote attackers to change plugin settings. The save_locsettings method runs on every WordPress init, copies attacker-controlled POST fields, and writes them to jobsearch_locsetin_options without a nonce or capability check. No authentication or user interaction is required, and the demonstrated consequence is unauthorized modification of location configuration.
