Unauthenticated Telnet enablement via backdoor command
Published Apr 8, 2022 · Updated Aug 4, 2024
Backdoor in FOSCAM Camera FI9805E firmware V4.02.R12.00018510.10012.143900.00000 allows remote attackers to gain Telnet access via port 9530. The firmware's port-9530 handler accepts a special command and starts the Telnet service, exposing a remote command interface. Any attacker able to reach the camera on the network can trigger the command without authentication; the resulting Telnet access can permit administrative control of the device.
