Stored XSS via unescaped username rendering
Published Apr 4, 2022 · Updated Aug 4, 2024
Stored XSS in Rumble Mail Server 0.51.3135 allows remote authenticated users to execute scripts in an administrator's browser via username. The /users handler stores the username value and inserts it without HTML encoding into the users table and edit and delete link attributes. Access to the authenticated user-management interface and a later page view are required; the script runs in the viewer's Rumble origin and can access or alter browser-visible administrative data.
