Unauthenticated role manipulation via unchecked save endpoint
Published Jun 7, 2023 · Updated Apr 8, 2026
Missing authorization in StylemixThemes uListing 1.6.6 and earlier allows remote attackers to add or remove WordPress roles and capabilities. The public /1/api/ulisting-user/role/save route passes attacker-supplied roles to UlistingUserRole::save_roles without a capability check or nonce validation. No account is required, so arbitrary roles can be created or deleted and capabilities can be added to existing roles.
