Privilege escalation via user-ID override
Published Jun 7, 2023 · Updated Apr 8, 2026
Improper authorization in N-Media Frontend File Manager Plugin 18.2 and earlier allows remote attackers to assume another user's access. The wpfm_get_current_user function replaces the authenticated or guest user ID with an unvalidated file_owner query value before loading that user. A reachable plugin page is sufficient, and the attacker gains the information and privileges assigned to another user within the same access category.
