CVE-2021-43415Network attack vector

Host resource access via unrestricted QEMU arguments

Published Dec 3, 2021 · Updated Aug 4, 2024

Argument restriction bypass in Nomad and Nomad Enterprise allows remote authenticated users to access host resources through QEMU jobs. The QEMU task driver forwards a job-supplied -drive argument without restricting the flag, letting a crafted job select an image outside configured image_paths. Exploitation requires an enabled QEMU driver and job-submission rights; the resulting QEMU process can reach host files and other resources exposed through accepted arguments.
