Root takeover via unchanged default SSH password
Published Nov 30, 2021 · Updated Aug 4, 2024
Hard-coded credentials in Victure WR1200 firmware 1.0.3 and earlier allow attackers on the local network to gain root access through SSH. The SSH service retains the root account password at the factory value admin, and changing the web-interface administrator password does not update it. Access to the router's local Wi-Fi or Ethernet network is required; successful authentication grants privileged control of the device.
