Authenticated root command execution via unsanitized domain field
Published Nov 30, 2021 · Updated Aug 4, 2024
OS command injection in Victure WR1200 1.0.3 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to execute shell commands as root. The ping and traceroute handler passes the JSON domain field to a shell command without neutralizing semicolons, so appended commands execute. Valid web-interface credentials and network access to the router are required; successful exploitation grants complete control of the device.
