CVE-2021-43282Public exploit

Wi-Fi access via MAC-derived default WPA2 key

Published Nov 30, 2021 · Updated Aug 4, 2024

Hard-coded credentials in Victure WR1200 1.0.3 and earlier allow physically proximate attackers to obtain the default Wi-Fi key. The router sets both default Wi-Fi passwords to the last four bytes of its advertised 2.4 GHz NIC MAC address, so a basic wireless scan reveals the value needed to derive them. Exploitation requires Wi-Fi scanning range and unchanged factory keys; successful use grants access to both wireless networks.
