Code execution via stale DGN object access
Published Nov 14, 2021 · Updated Aug 4, 2024
Use-after-free in the DGN reader in Open Design Alliance Drawings SDK before 2022.8 allows attackers to execute code via a crafted DGN file. The parser performs operations on a DGN object without first confirming that the object still exists, allowing freed memory to be reused. Exploitation requires an application built with the SDK to read a malicious DGN file, and resulting code runs in that application's process.
