Code execution via 3MF parser use-after-free
Published Nov 10, 2021 · Updated Aug 19, 2026
Use-after-free in Microsoft 3D Viewer before 7.2107.7012.0 allows remote attackers to execute code through a crafted 3MF file. The 3MF parser performs operations on an object without first validating that the object still exists, creating a use-after-free condition. Exploitation requires the target to open the file or visit a malicious page, and code runs in the current process at low integrity.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
