Book deletion via forged administrator request
Published Dec 22, 2021 · Updated Aug 4, 2024
Cross-site request forgery in ProjectWorlds Online Book Store PHP 1.0 allows remote attackers to delete books through an administrator's browser. The admin_delete.php endpoint accepts a bookisbn value in a state-changing GET request and deletes the matching record without an anti-CSRF token. Exploitation requires an authenticated administrator to visit attacker-controlled content that automatically sends the forged request; the resulting action deletes the selected book.
