Local file disclosure via external XML entities
Published Mar 25, 2022 · Updated Aug 4, 2024
XXE in Predic8 soa-model before 1.6.4 allows remote attackers to read local files by supplying a malicious WSDL document. WSDLParser reaches AbstractParser and Include, where XMLInputFactory creates stream readers with external-entity processing enabled for untrusted XML resources. A consuming application must parse an attacker-controlled or remote WSDL; exploitation reads files accessible to that process and sends their contents to an attacker-controlled endpoint.
