CVE-2021-43073Network attack vector

Authenticated command execution via API input interpolation

Published Feb 2, 2022 · Updated Oct 25, 2024

OS command injection in Fortinet FortiWeb 6.4.0 through 6.4.1 allows remote authenticated users to execute commands via crafted HTTP requests. API controllers directly interpolate attacker-controlled request input into operating-system commands; FortiWeb 6.3.15 and earlier and 6.2.6 and earlier are also affected. Valid FortiWeb credentials and network access to the API are required, and successful exploitation executes commands on the underlying appliance.
