Authenticated code execution via API heap overflow
Published Dec 9, 2021 · Updated Oct 25, 2024
Heap-based buffer overflow in FortiWeb 6.2.0 through 6.2.6, 6.3.0 through 6.3.16, 6.4.0, and 6.4.1 allows remote authenticated users to execute code. The LogAccess and LogReport API v1.0 controllers mishandle crafted HTTP request data and write beyond a heap buffer. Authentication is required; successful exploitation permits unauthorized commands and can compromise or interrupt the appliance.
