Command injection in Kaseya Unitrends Backup Appliance before 10.5.5 allows remote authenticated users to execute code as postgres. The bp.run_elk_alert_script() PostgreSQL trigger function passes attacker-controlled alert_text values containing shell metacharacters to Perl's system() without neutralization. Access to the wguest database account is required; exploitation grants the postgres account's access to appliance data and operating-system commands.
