Malicious JSP placement via unrestricted FileController upload
Published May 13, 2022 · Updated Aug 4, 2024
Unrestricted file upload in novel-plus allows remote attackers to place malicious JSP files through the FileController endpoint. FileController accepts attacker-supplied upload content without restricting the dangerous JSP file type, allowing server-side code to be stored by the application. No authentication is required; the public record demonstrates malicious file placement but does not document the subsequent request needed to execute it.
