Authenticated root command execution via ping input
Published Dec 16, 2021 · Updated Jul 9, 2026
OS command injection in FiberHome AN5506-04-F RP2617 allows remote authenticated users to execute commands as root through ping diagnostics. The ping_ip field on /application/ping_diagnosis.asp reaches the server-side ping command without rejecting shell metacharacters, so semicolon-delimited input invokes additional commands. Access to the management interface and a valid login are required, after which injected commands run with root privileges and can fully control the device.
