Unauthenticated file read/write/delete via PluginServlet path traversal
Published Mar 9, 2022 · Updated Sep 16, 2024
Path traversal in Riverbed AppInternals DSA before 11.8.8 or 12.13.0 allows remote attackers to read, write, or delete files. PluginServlet passes unvalidated input from the /api/appInternals/1.0/plugin/pmx endpoint into file-path handling, allowing traversal beyond its intended directory. No authentication or user interaction is required, and file operations remain bounded by the servlet process's filesystem permissions.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
Is a vulnerable build present?
Compare these published version ranges with your installed build and any vendor patches.
- Affected versionversion=10.x
- Affected versionversion=11.8.8 <11.8.8
