Internal network probing via malicious connection string
Published Dec 16, 2023 · Updated Aug 4, 2024
Information disclosure in AVEVA Edge through 2020 R2 SP1 HF 2020.2.00.40 allows remote attackers to probe internal network services. The Database Gateway accepts a client-supplied connection string and makes response-dependent connection attempts to attacker-chosen LAN hosts and ports. No authentication or user interaction is required; exposed TCP port 3997 turns the gateway into a network-reconnaissance oracle without reported data modification or service interruption.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
