Unauthenticated arbitrary file overwrite via firmware download
Published Nov 12, 2021 · Updated Aug 4, 2024
Arbitrary file write in Broadcom Emulex HBA Manager/One Command Manager before 11.4.425.0 and 12.8.542.31 lets remote attackers replace host files. The remote firmware-download feature places or replaces a file at an arbitrary location on the managed host, although Broadcom has not disclosed the responsible function or failed validation. Strictly Local Management mode prevents remote reachability; non-secure remote-management mode requires no authentication and permits host-file modification.
